Some of Savannah’s most beautiful light is during sunrise. As soon as Emily, Dallas, and I turned into The Landings Club and saw the steam rising off the ponds and grass – we knew it was going to be a magical shoot. The Landings club is on Skidaway Island, and one of the prettiest and best-manicured locations in Savannah, GA.

When the sun starts to peek through the ancient live oaks and palm trees, it warms up the evening’s dew and you begin to get these gorgeous beams of sunlight. As soon as we arrived at The Landings Club, the beams of light nearly jumped out at us! Every sunrise photoshoot makes me wish I woke up earlier – there are just so many things we miss!

And speaking of things normally missed – have you ever seen Savannah’s River Street completely empty of tourists? Well guess what – we have! River street is incredibly important to Emily, so we actually started our photoshoot on the banks of the Savannah River, watching a gorgeous sunrise peaking from behind tall, dramatic clouds. The early wake up call was 100% worth it, and we were able to capture some gorgeous photos, all before the tourists – and the heat – came out!

Early morning photo shoots are quickly becoming my favorite time to shoot!
