It was the perfect afternoon for engagement photos around Forsyth Park, in the heart of Savannah, GA. In a week that’s been plagued with heat advisories and afternoon thunderstorms, Sarah and Victor managed to schedule the best afternoon with the nicest breeze. Goodness, we even had fun ambient music since the Army national big band was playing live music in the park! It seems every day and on every corner there is magic happening in Savannah, GA.

When I first met Sarah and Victor, we were hanging out in Reynold’s square together. We were just talking about their wedding, and how I might be able to help them remember such an important day. I remember each of them commenting about their families, their cultures, and how their wedding was just going to be incredibly special to each of them. I’ve noticed a trend amongst the couples that tend to choose Sarah and I as their photographers; our couples are fun, interesting, know how to throw a good party, but above all else – they cherish family. That doesn’t always mean blood relatives, usually their friends are as close as family, too.

It was fun watching how Sarah and Victor talked together, each doting on, and laughing with the other. Our engagement session was just like our meeting – I challenge you to look at the photos and NOT break out in a giant smile by the end of it. You can tell how much these two love each other, and how special it is to take these photos around Savannah, GA. Forsyth Park has a special place in a lot of people’s lives. It’s uniquely special to Sarah and Victor, as Victor proposed right in front of the fountain. (Sarah and yes.)

We hit all the major spots around Forsyth, and even some of the surrounding streets. The truth is, we could have continued all over Savannah and taken gorgeous photos on every street. But Victor was classy, and had supper reservations already made for the two of them. So we finished up our engagement session, and I rushed home to get started editing these photos. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed finishing them.

Be sure to leave Sarah and Victor some love in the comments below!

  • Hi! I’ve been looking at the SL with 50mm lens (not sure which one yet). Do you feel the SL gets accurate skin tones straight out of camera?
