I hope you’re ready for a magical southern engagement session, because Sarah and Lehman’s photos are out of this world! If you’re going to have your engagement photos taken in Savannah, Georgia, you absolutely have to include one of our gorgeous city squares. And if you were like Lehman, and proposed to Sarah in one of Savannah’s most beautiful squares, you absolutely have to get photos done there, too. So this wonderful session starts with a walk through the historic Lafayette Square.

Lafayette Square was named after Marquis de Lafayette, a Frenchman who served as George Washington’s Aide de Camp during the American Revolution. Lafayette Square is a perfect square for photos! The square is surrounded by stunning victorian architecture, is nestled under the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, and steeped in History. And now part of Lafayette’s history is Lehman and Sarah’s engagement!

After taking photos around the square’s fountain and greenery, we were able to incorporate the cathedral into a few photos as well! I am SO excited to share that Sarah and Lehman’s wedding is actually taking place in the cathedral, and I’m already extremely excited about photographing in there! I can’t wait to share some photos of the inside here on this blog!

Once we wrapped up around Lafayette Square, it was only a short drive over to Bethesda Academy. If you’ve never heard of Bethesda Academy, it’s definitely worth looking up and learning about. Photos are by appointment only, and it’s worth their modest fee. Bethesda Academy was founded in 1740, and is actually America’s oldest child caring institution. The Academy is on over 600 acres, and every single square inch of the place is gorgeous and perfect for an intimate engagement session. Sometimes Savannah can be pretty packed, especially on beautiful days, so if you’re a little shy about taking photos, Bethesda is a beautiful and secluded place.

It was an absolute blast spending time with Lehman and Sarah. It was so nice getting to know them more, and visiting some important places they’ve shared together. If you’ve got a moment, I’m sure the couple would love to hear your words of love and encouragement in the comments below.
