So, St. Patrick’s Day is a pretty big deal down here in Savannah. In fact, we’re the third largest St. Patrick’s day parade – in the world! I read in one place that over 1.5 million people were expected to be downtown this year, considering that the popular holiday also fell on a Saturday this year – making it prime time for folks to enjoy the festivities. But this year’s St. Patrick’s Day was uniquely exciting for one Savannah couple – Kait and Brad decided to tie the knot and get married in front of their closest friends and family this past weekend!

One thing I always ask my couples is, ‘so, how did you find me?’ I’m always curious how a couple winds up shooting me an email or giving me a call to photograph their big day. It’s a big deal finding a photographer! We tell your story, we help capture your most cherished memories, and it’s important it’s all done professionally! Funny enough, Kait didn’t find me on google, she didn’t see my Facebook page, or my Instagram account – I actually kinda cold-called her!

Okay – before you jump to conclusions – no – I’m not flinging open a phone book and randomly offering my photography services! I was actually getting my hair cut, by none other than the amazing ‘Kait the Barber’ at Bell Barber Co. and like during any normal hair cutting appointment, Kait and I just started chatting about life. (p.s. If you haven’t been to Bell Barber yet, make an appointment ASAP.) Once we talked about our kids (She’s got an awesome little boy named Waylon, I’ve got three crazy kiddos you can see here), and our significant others, somehow the topic of what I do for a living came up, and out popped ‘I’m a wedding photographer in Savannah, GA!’

One thing led to another, and a few emails, text messages, and FaceTime calls later – here we are, still getting amazing hair cuts, and celebrating Kait and Brad’s amazing day on a BEAUTIFUL sunny St. Patrick’s Day. It’s been so much fun getting to know these two (three, including little Waylon!) and I can’t wait to share all of these amazing images with their happy family.

I thoroughly hope you enjoy the photos, please be sure to leave Kait and Brad some love in the comments below!

I forgot to mention, this was an extremely special moment. Not only did she get her grandmother a gift, but she very sweetly asked her grandmother to walk her down the aisle. As you can see below, her grandmother was touched and just as sweetly said yes.
