Just off the coast of Georgia is a series of islands called the Golden Isles. It’s a personal goal of mine to have an amazing photo shoot on each of these islands in 2018, so be sure to contact me and let’s make that happen, wink wink! I’ve already had the pleasure to photograph on St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island. Next on the list is either Sea Island, Little St. Simon’s Island, or Historic Brunswick. But enough about me and my goal to becoming your favorite Golden Isle Photographer – today I want to share some AMAZING images from the Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island!

Even though this beach in particular isn’t the best for swimming, it’s still an amazing beach for walking, combing, or just plain exploring. Centuries old oak trees have washed ashore here, creating an other-worldly landscape of history and whimsy. All these oaks mixed with a healthy dash of Spanish moss, the salty air, and all the tropical palm trees, make for the perfect location for engagement photos. Shannon and Jordan chose perfectly.

I’m a big fan of getting to a session nice and early – I like to do as much homework or reconnoissance at a location before the shoot as possible. So, like most sessions, I got here early and scoped the best section of beach for our photo shoot. Ummm it was way too easy. Everywhere I looked was gorgeous. With so many epic places and opportunities, I was literately giddy waiting for Shannon and Jordan. And when they finally did – magic ensued. I hope you enjoy the photos below, I certainly enjoyed making them.
